Background: urge urinary incontinence (UUI) is the involuntary loss of urine accompanied or immediately preceded by a sudden and strong desire to urinate that cannot be delayed or that is difficult to postpone. Data claim that UUI increases significantly from 40 to 65 years, which is why this specific age group, which has been little studied in the literature, deserves to be investigated. Moreover, they are socially active and working women who represent a social and economic resource for the country: therefore, their malaise is not only a personal problem, but also a problem for the society.

Methods: We analyzed health conditions data from the Millennium Cohort Study (MCS) (age = 17; N = 19,239), the National Child Development Study (NCDS) (age = 44; N = 9293), and the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA) (age ≥ 50; N = 7585). The fit of three Confirmatory Factor models was used to select the optimal solution by Comparative Fit Index, Tucker-Lewis Index, and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation.

Methods: A literature search was conducted across PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library. Eligible studies included randomized controlled trials, quasi-experimental, observational, and in vitro studies.
