Introduction Ophthalmology presentations contribute significantly to Accident and Emergency (A&E) attendance. The provision of safe care depends on clinical skills and appropriate equipment. This quality improvement project aimed to increase the availability of ophthalmoscopes and Snellen charts required for a basic ophthalmological assessment in an A&E department in North London.

Introduction: Long-term care (LTC) residents are frequently transferred to acute care hospitals. Transfer decisions should align with residents' wishes and goals. Decision to transfer to hospital, when not aligned with the resident's wishes, can result in transfers that are harmful to residents, leaving residents in a state of disability that could be considered worse than death.

Acute brain injury (ABI) is a complex disease process that begins with an initial insult followed by secondary injury resulting from disturbances in cerebral physiology. In the metabolically active brain, early recognition of physiologic derangements is critical in enabling clinicians with the insight to adjust therapeutic interventions and reduce risk of ischemia and permanent injury. Current established approaches for monitoring cerebral physiology include the neurologic physical examination, traditional brain imaging such as computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), electroencephalography (EEG), and bedside modalities such as invasive parenchymal probes and transcranial doppler ultrasound.

Background: Permanent Pacemaker (PPM) implantation is essential in treating cardiac arrhythmias and conduction disorders, especially in patients with heart failure. Although PPM has been proven to improve quality of life and prolong life expectancy in patients with cardiac conduction disorders, post implantation complications still often occur.

Purpose: This study aimed to identify types of complications and associated predictors in patients undergoing PPM implantation.

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Frontiers Science Center for Transformative Molecules, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, 200240, China.

Sulfur-fluoride exchange (SuFEx) reaction is an emerging class of click chemistry reaction. Owing to its efficient reactivity under physiological conditions, SuFEx reaction is used to construct covalent protein drugs. Herein, a covalent affibody-molecular glue drug conjugate nanoagent is reported, which can irreversibly bind with its target protein through proximity-enabled SuFEx reaction.
