The advancements in cardiovascular imaging over the past two decades have been significant. The miniaturization of ultrasound devices has greatly contributed to their widespread adoption in operating rooms and intensive care units. The integration of AI-enabled tools has further transformed the field by simplifying echocardiographic evaluations and enhancing the reproducibility of hemodynamic measurements, even for less experienced operators.

Echocardiography is crucial for evaluating patients at risk of clinical deterioration. Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and velocity time integral (VTI) aid in diagnosing shock, but bedside calculations can be time-consuming and prone to variability. Artificial intelligence technology shows promise in providing assistance to clinicians performing point-of-care echocardiography.

Rationale And Objectives: Central arterial blood pressure (CBP) is considered a more valuable prognostic marker of major cardiovascular diseases than peripheral blood pressure. Non-invasive evaluation of central aortic pressure by Doppler echocardiography is a hopeful tool, avoiding many complications of invasive catheter strategy and diminishing time and costs.

Methods: A total of 118 patients were referred for elective cardiac catheterization at the Cardiovascular Medicine Department, Mansoura University.

Background: Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is the most frightening gastrointestinal emergency in newborns. Despite being primarily a disease of premature infants, neonates with congenital heart disease (CHD) are at increased risk of development. Acute and chronic hemodynamic changes in this population may lead to mesenteric circulatory insufficiency.

Background Managing critically ill pediatric patients is a challenging responsibility that necessitates effective prioritization and time management. It is important not only to assess the condition of the patient on a continuous and real-time basis but also to assess in a way that will provide vital clues that may help in diagnosis and treatment. Our study aims to investigate the association between echocardiography and clinical systemic examination, to find the association between cardiac dysfunction and pediatric outcomes, and to identify the indications and necessity of echocardiography assessments and therapeutic interventions for patients in the pediatric intensive care unit.
