Objective: This study aimed to develop recommendations and a related implementation resource 'toolkit' to facilitate implementation of pain management strategies in Australian Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs).
Methods: This qualitative study used written materials, focus groups and individual interviews to gather data from participants. Thirty-four health-care professionals with experience in the aged care sector were recruited from five Western Australian RACFs. General practitioners who had an interest in aged care were contacted via local general practice networks.
Results: Findings indicated that focused education sessions were needed to support implementation. A tailored toolkit was developed to assist the process. Funding and workforce constraints were found to be threats to complete implementation in some facilities.
Conclusions: A multifaceted approach is needed to promote the implementation of pain management strategies in RACFs. In particular, unlicensed care workers, who may have responsibility for recognising and reporting signs of pain, require further education to support their role in the pain management process.

Background: Acute pain management is critical in postoperative care, especially in vulnerable patient populations that may be unable to self-report pain levels effectively. Current methods of pain assessment often rely on subjective patient reports or behavioral pain observation tools, which can lead to inconsistencies in pain management. Multimodal pain assessment, integrating physiological and behavioral data, presents an opportunity to create more objective and accurate pain measurement systems.

Background: Pedicle screw insertion in posterior spinal surgery can cause vascular injuries, including rare intercostal artery pseudoaneurysms, which are typically discovered incidentally during reimaging. Onyx embolization is an effective treatment for small artery pseudoaneurysms.
Observations: A 36-year-old man who had initially presented with back pain that remained unresponsive to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs was diagnosed with a T7-8 sarcomatous lesion confirmed by magnetic resonance imaging and biopsy.

Percutaneous intra-meniscal platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a promising tool for managing low-grade meniscal injuries in non-athletic patients. The study evaluates the clinical and radiological outcomes of PRP intra-meniscal injection in meniscal tears. Forty-eight patients were injected with 3 injections of PRP at an interval of one week with a standardised technique under sonographic guidance.
