Biodegradable polyetherester copolymer (PCL/PEG/PCL, PCEC) was synthesized by ring-opening polymerization of epsilon-caprolactone initiated by poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG). The PCEC nanoparticles were prepared by solvent diffusion method or w/o/w double emulsion method. The obtained particles' morphology was observed on scanning electron microscopy, and the particle size distribution was determined using Malvern laser particle sizer. Bovine serum albumin was used as the model water-soluble protein drug, which was successfully encapsulated in PCEC nanoparticles, the drug release behavior was studied in detail. The hydrolytic degradation behavior of the PCEC nanoparticles was also studied.

In this study, FeO@ZnCr-layered double hydroxide/zeolitic imidazolate frameworks-8 (MLDH/ZIF-8) magnetically functionalized composites were synthesized by co-precipitation and in situ growth based on the advantages of LDHs and ZIF-8 using FeO nanoparticles as a magnetic substrate to obtain adsorbents with excellent performance. Moreover, the composite was used for the efficient enrichment of flavonoids in Chinese herbal medicines. The internal structures and surface properties were characterized by SEM, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and so on.

The regeneration of cutaneous tissue is one of the most challenging issues in human regenerative medicine. To date, several studies have been done to promote cutaneous tissue healing with minimum side effects. The healing potential of polyurethane (PU)/Poly (caprolactone)-poly (ethylene glycol)-poly (caprolactone) (PCEC)/chitosan (CS) (PCS) nanofibrous mat with cationic photosensitizer meso tetrakis (N-methyl pyridinium-4-yl) porphyrin tetratosylate salt (TMP) was examined.

Introduction: Drug repurposing is an effective strategy for identifying the use of approved drugs for new therapeutic purposes. This strategy has received particular attention in the development of cancer chemotherapy. Considering that a growing body of evidence suggesting the cholesterol-lowering drug ezetimibe (EZ) may prevent the progression of prostate cancer, we investigated the effect of EZ alone and in combination with doxorubicin (DOX) on prostate cancer treatment.

Applications of submicron-scale particles are of rising interest in separation science due to their favorable surface-to-volume ratio and their fabrication of highly ordered structures. The uniformly dense packing beds in columns assembled from nanoparticles combined with an electroosmotic flow-driven system has great potential in a highly efficient separation system. Here, we packed capillary columns using a gravity method with synthesized nanoscale C18-SiO particles having diameters of 300-900 nm.

Background: To address the obstacles that come with orthopedic surgery for biological graft tissues, including immune rejections, bacterial infections, and weak osseointegration, bioactive nanocomposites have been used as an alternative for bone grafting since they can mimic the biological and mechanical properties of the native bone. Among them, PCL-PEG-PCL (PCEC) copolymer has gained much attention for bone tissue engineering as a result of its biocompatibility and ability for osteogenesis.
Methods: Here, we designed a growth factor-free nanoengineered scaffold based on the incorporation of FeO and hydroxyapatite (HA) nanoparticles into the PCL-PEG-PCL/Gelatin (PCEC/Gel) nanocomposite.
