Lupus cystitis is a rare manifestation in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE); it usually occurs in association with gastrointestinal manifestations. We report two cases of lupus cystitis without bladder irritation symptoms. Both cases developed severe abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea and showed no bladder irritation symptoms. The diagnosis of lupus cystitis was made by abdominal ultrasonography and bladder biopsy. The patients were treated with intravenous methylprednisolone pulse therapy followed by oral prednisolone. Their symptoms were ameliorated, and hydroureteronephrosis improved. Thus, when a patient with SLE shows gastrointestinal symptoms, further examinations are required to determine whether the patient has lupus cystitis.

One of the most prevalent disorders of the urinary system is urinary tract infection, which is mostly brought on by uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC). The objective of this study was to evaluate the regenerative therapeutic and antibacterial efficacy of PRP for induced bacterial cystitis in dogs in comparison to conventional antibiotics. 25 healthy male mongrel dogs were divided into 5 groups (n = 5).

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is often seen with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS), and these conditions may occur concurrently with severe immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and even acute kidney injury (AKI); however, post-renal AKI due to bleeding is uncommon. Here, we describe a case of post-renal AKI and anuria in a patient with SLE and APS, which were attributable to urinary tract obstruction due to massive blood clots caused by secondary ITP. A 50-year-old Japanese woman was admitted to our hospital with anuria, abdominal tenderness, purpura in the trunk and in both legs, and severe thrombocytopenia.

Background And Objectives: Previous studies have reported a possible prodrome in multiple sclerosis (MS) defined by nonspecific symptoms including mood disorder or genitourinary symptoms and increased health care use detected several years before diagnosis. This study aimed to evaluate agnostically the associations between diseases and symptoms diagnosed in primary care and the risk of MS relative to controls and 2 other autoimmune inflammatory diseases with similar population characteristics, namely lupus and Crohn disease (CD).
Methods: A case-control study was conducted using electronic health records from the Health Improvement Network database in the United Kingdom and France.
