An expression for joint stationary moments of a diffusion approximation to a generalized Wright-Fisher model, corresponding to two finite populations of equal sizes, with migration and mutation, is derived. This gives a complete description of the stationary distribution of allele frequencies in the balance between migration, mutation and genetic drift. We derive the sampling formula in terms of the joint stationary moments, and we also prove that the diffusion process corresponding to this model of population division is not reversible.

Osteoporosis (OP) is a prevalent metabolic bone disease globally. Currently, the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) resources to unblock joints, strengthen bones, and enhance muscle function to regulate anti-osteogenic and anabolic metabolism and thus reshape intraosseous homeostasis was an effective way to alleviate OP. The F-E-D formula, comprising Fructus Psoraleae, Eucommia, and Drynariae Rhizoma, has shown efficacy in treating OP.

Potassium metal batteries (KMBs) hold promise for stationary energy storage with certain cost and resource merits. Nevertheless, their practicability is greatly handicapped by dendrite-related anodes, and the target design of specialized separators to boost anode safety is in its nascent stage. Here, we develop a thermally robust biopolymeric separator customized via a solvent-exchange and amino-siloxane decoration strategy to render durable and safe KMBs.

In this work, we consider the problem of jointly minimizing the average cost of sampling and transmitting status updates by users over a wireless channel subject to average Age of Information (AoI) constraints. Errors in the transmission may occur and a policy has to decide if the users sample a new packet or attempt to retransmission the packet sampled previously. The cost consists of both sampling and transmission costs.

Introduction: Osteoarthritis is a progressive joint disease that causes pain and disability, impairing physical function. Moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) is recommended for knee osteoarthritis, while stationary time, independent of activity, may negatively impact health outcomes. We hypothesised that individuals with the highest MVPA and lowest stationary time would have better long-term function compared to those with the lowest MVPA and highest stationary time, as well as those with high levels of both MVPA and stationary time.

Genetic mutations in retinol dehydrogenase 5 (RDH5), a rate-limiting enzyme of the visual cycle, is associated with nyctalopia, age-related macular disease, and stationary congenital fundus albipunctatus (FA). A majority of these mutations impair RDH5 protein expression and intracellular localization. However, the regulatory mechanisms underlying RDH5 metabolism remain unclear.
