A 62-year-old man was referred to our hospital presenting with a sore throat, dyspnea, and cervical swelling. Initial precontrast CT scans revealed a cervical and mediastinal hematoma, along with a hemothorax. Further dynamic contrast-enhanced CT scans indicated contrast media extravasation dorsal to the right thyroid gland lobe, suggesting a rupture of the right inferior thyroid artery or a parathyroid adenoma.

BACKGROUND Malignant hyperthermia (MH) and anesthesia-induced rhabdomyolysis (AIR) are rare, yet life-threatening complications that need prompt therapeutic actions and logistic preparedness for treatment success. Both conditions are triggered by general anesthetics, particularly volatiles and depolarizing muscle relaxants. In comparison with MH, which is an inherited pharmacogenomic disease of calcium channel receptor subpopulation and arises only after trigger exposure, AIR has been described mostly in patients with muscular dystrophies.

To summarize the clinical features associated with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection in patients following the hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) and exploring the risk factors for death. Patients who had RSV infection after undergoing HSCT from October 2023 to January 2024 in the hematology department of Peking University People's Hospital were enrolled in the study. The clinical characteristics of the participating patients were summarized.
