Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is characterized as a heterogeneous and pathological remodeling of brain physiology because of various external mechanisms, including blows, falls, and rapid acceleration and deceleration of the skull. Its pathophysiology consists of two distinct moments, beginning with a primary lesion resulting from the impact that evolves into a secondary lesion as biochemical and molecular mechanisms are activated. The severity and prognosis after TBI vary widely, depending on factors such as the site of the injury, the patient's premorbid history, and the severity of the injury, and can result in long-term sequelae impacting multiple organs and systems, with a reduction in the life expectancy of these individuals.

In this paper, we present CardioMat, a Matlab toolbox for cardiac electrophysiology simulation based on patient-specific anatomies. The strength of CardioMat is the easy and fast construction of electrophysiology cardiac digital twins from segmented anatomical images in a general-purpose software such as Matlab. CardioMat implements a quasi-automatic pipeline that guides the user toward the construction of anatomically detailed cardiac electrophysiology models.

- - DiGeorge syndrome (DGS) is a common microdeletion syndrome that impacts various body systems such as the heart, nervous, and immune systems; this study evaluated clinical and neurocognitive aspects of 52 DGS patients.
- - Out of the 52 patients, the median age was about 10.5 years, with partial DGS noted in those who survived; 15 patients did not survive during the study period.
- - Significant neurological issues were identified, including brain abnormalities in 72% of patients and various neuropsychological impairments, highlighting the need for awareness and tailored care for these individuals.

Background: Internal carotid artery (ICA) dissection is a relatively rare cause of acute ischemic stroke. Stretching and compression of ICA due to sudden acceleration, deceleration, and rotational forces are risk factors for ICA dissection. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is believed to trigger an inflammatory response that exacerbates endothelial dysfunction and leads to arterial dissection.
