Introduction: Tedizolid phosphate, an oxazolidinone antibiotic, has been approved for the treatment of acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSIs). However, its off-label use has been reported in various infections, including osteoarticular infections.
Methods: A systematic review of data from PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science was conducted to evaluate the antimicrobial activity, safety, and effectiveness of tedizolid in patients with bone and joint infections, including prosthetic joint infections, osteomyelitis, and septic arthritis.

Suprathel has been introduced in our centre since 2014 for superficial to deep partial thickness burns. To evaluate healing outcomes and usability of Suprathel in our paediatric population, we conducted a retrospective cohort study, including all paediatric patients treated with Suprathel for burn wounds since its introduction. The studied population consisted of 92 patients, with a mean age of 4 years [3 months -17 years].

Disease tolerance is a host response to infection that limits collateral damage to host tissues while having a neutral effect on pathogen fitness. Previously, we found that the pathogenic lactic acid bacterium Streptococcus pyogenes manipulates disease tolerance using its aerobic mixed-acid fermentation pathway via the enzyme pyruvate dehydrogenase, but the microbe-derived molecules that mediate communication with the host's disease tolerance pathways remain elusive. Here we show in a murine model that aerobic mixed-acid fermentation inhibits the accumulation of inflammatory cells including neutrophils and macrophages, reduces the immunosuppressive cytokine interleukin-10, and delays bacterial clearance and wound healing.

Mycobacterial infection poses a significant threat to human health, with granuloma formation serving as a hallmark pathological feature and a critical diagnostic indicator. Langhans giant cells (LGCs) play a pivotal role in the immune response during mycobacterial infections, yet their immunological functions remain incompletely understood. In this study, we explored the role of LGCs in immune modulation during mycobacterial infection.

Superficial partial thickness burns typically receive nonoperative treatment, whereas deep partial thickness burns, which are prone to hypertrophic scarring, are usually managed through debridement followed by autologous split-thickness skin grafting. Various therapies have been developed to prevent wound infection and to enhance wound healing in pediatric partial-thickness burns. However, the choice of dressing by the surgeon can be influenced by various factors.
