A very promising strategy to avoid bacterial drug resistance is to replace antibiotics with artificial nanozymes, but this has not yet been translated to the clinic. Here, we construct a single-atom nanozyme using graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets modified by copper (Cu--CN). This Cu--CN nanosheet possesses both glucose oxidase-like and peroxidase-like activities responsible for reactive-oxygen-species generation by a cascade reaction to eradicate Gram-positive and Gram-negative multidrug-resistant bacteria.

The cell adhesion protein CD56 has been identified as a potential therapeutic target in several solid tumors and hematological malignancies. Recently, we developed a CD56-directed antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), called Adcitmer and demonstrated its antitumor properties in preclinical models of the rare and aggressive skin cancer Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC).The present study aims to further optimize Adcitmer to overcome the therapeutic limitations observed with previously evaluated CD56-targeting ADCs, which were partially related to toxic effects on leukocytes.

Tuberculosis (TB) remains the leading cause of death worldwide from a single infectious disease. An estimated quarter of the world's population, about 2 billion people, has an immune response to Mtb without clinical, microbiological, or radiological signs of TB disease. This condition is known as TB infection (TBI) and carries a lifelong risk of reactivation with 5-10% of individuals eventually developing TB disease during their lifetime.

Atopic dermatitis (AD)-like graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a chronic form of skin GVHD with features that include erythema, xerosis, scaling, and pruritus. Patients often require treatment with systemic immunosuppression and aggressive topical therapies for relief. Long-term effects of chronic immunosuppression are undesirable and alternative therapies are needed.

(SA) is an opportunistic pathogen and human commensal that is frequently present in the upper respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract and skin. While SA can cause diseases ranging from minor skin infections to life-threatening bacteraemia, it can also be carried asymptomatically. Indigenous individuals in the Southwest USA experience high rates of invasive SA disease.
