Asynchronous reactions of the thyroid morphological parameters to ionizing radiation were observed in male rats after 24 hours following single and fractional exposure. In delayed periods the thyroid function was suppressed no matter the dose of single and fractional irradiation.

: Over the past decade, significant advances have been made in image-guided radiotherapy (RT) particularly with the introduction of magnetic resonance (MR)-guided radiotherapy (MRgRT). However, the optimal clinical applications of MRgRT are still evolving. The intent of this analysis was to describe our institutional MRgRT utilization patterns and evolution therein, specifically as an early adopter within a center endowed with multiple other technology platforms.

Edible insects have been proposed as a novel and sustainable source of protein and other essential nutrients for human consumption but nutrient absorption efficiency is still uncertain. We investigated zinc absorption from house crickets (Acheta domesticus) in a single-center and single-blinded cross-over study with children aged 24-36 months old in Kenya from September-November 2021. For this, children were randomized to consume two different experimental meals labeled with stable isotopes of zinc (Zn) at two different days, separated by a wash-out period of one month.

Purpose: Spastic paraplegia type 5 (SPG5) is a rare neurodegenerative disease diagnosed primarily through genetic testing. We identified a specific spinal cord sign on conventional MR imaging to help narrow the scope of genetic screening.
Methods: In 25 patients with SPG5 and 21 healthy controls (HCs), the spinal cord cross sign was evaluated on T2*-weighted imaging.

Objectives: We aim to assess right ventricular function in patients undergoing mitral valve repair using trans-esophageal echocardiography, focusing on the predictive value of right ventricular longitudinal strain compared to other echocardiographic measures.
Design: Retrospective analysis.
Setting: Toronto General Hospital.

Objective: Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) showed promising results in diagnosing upper limb neuropathies, but its value in patients with foot drop due to peroneal neuropathy has not yet been investigated. We aim to establish reference values for DTI metrics of the healthy peroneal nerve and to evaluate differences in DTI metrics between patients and healthy controls.
Methods: Diffusion-weighted images (DWI) from 22 pathological nerves, 14 asymptomatic patients' nerves and 65 healthy peroneal nerves were processed for quantitative assessment of fractional anisotropy (FA), radial diffusivity (RD), axial diffusivity and mean diffusivity.
