This paper investigates the structural characteristics of templated synthetic anti-ferromagnetic (SAF) magnetic nanoparticles fabricated on two different release layers. When copper was used as the latter, the layered structure of the SAFs was found to be disrupted with wavy multi-layers due to the formation of copper grains from the release layer. By introducing oxygen into the copper release layer before the deposition of the film, the topography of the oxidized copper grains was effectively controlled. This led to the fabrication of SAF nanoparticles with flat multi-layers.

The mineral, Burckhardtite, PbTeFe[AlSiO]O, is synthesized and characterized. A new analogue, PbTeGa[AlSiO]O, is successfully prepared for the first time under laboratory conditions. The substitution of Ga by TiM (M=Co, Ni) results in new compounds with the Burckhardtite mineral structure.

Under the presence of temperature gradient (TG) on a nanotrack, it is necessary to investigate the skyrmion dynamics in various magnetic systems under the combined effect of forces due to magnonic spin transfer torque(μSTT),thermal STT (τSTT), entropic difference(dS),as well as thermal induced dipolar field (DF). Hence, in this work, the dynamics of skyrmions in ferromagnets (FM), synthetic antiferromagnets (SAF), and antiferromagnets (AFM) have been studied under different TGs and damping constants (αG). It is observed thatαGplays a major role in deciding the direction of skyrmion motion either towards the hotter or colder side in different magnetic structures.

Transition-metal dichalcogenides intercalated with 3d-transition metals within the van der Waals (vdW) gaps have been the focus of intense investigations owing to their fascinating structural and magnetic properties. At certain concentrations the intercalated atoms form ordered superstructures that exhibit ferromagnetic or anti-ferromagnetic ordering. Here we show that the self-intercalated compound CrTe with δ ≈ 0.

Heterolanthanide complexes are difficult to synthesize owing to the similar chemistry of the lanthanide ions. Consequently, very few purely heterolanthanide complexes have been synthesized. This is despite the fact that such complexes hold interesting optical and magnetic properties.
