The aim of the study was to track changes in the spectrum of electromyographic (EMG) signals recorded from the feline multifidus muscles during stretching of the supraspinous ligament. The ligaments were exposed to external 40 N-tension for six consecutive trials of 10-min duration. Two experimental groups were formed, according to the rest periods supplied (10 or 20 min). EMG signals were recorded intramuscularly from the right multifidus muscles. The EMG signals from each trial were split into segments. For each segment, a representative averaged motor unit potential (AvMUP) was determined. The number of single MUPs averaged to obtain AvMUP was defined as muscular activity. The relative changes in a muscle fatigue index, median frequency as well as activity were analyzed. It was concluded that faster and powerful motor units are recruited firstly, in order to quickly provide stronger support to the spine and/or as a reaction to a minor damage of tissue. Depending on the applied rest periods, peripheral fatigue might be accumulated.

Purpose: The background of this scoping review is that pediatric neurosurgery in the vicinity of motor pathways is associated with the risk of motor tract damage. By measuring transcranial electrical evoked potentials in muscles (electromyogram) or from the spinal cord (epidural D-wave) functional disorders and impending damage can be detected during surgery and countermeasures can be initiated. The objective was to summarize stimulation techniques of transcranial electrical stimulation and the success rate of motor evoked potentials exclusively in children undergoing neurosurgery.

Fatigue can cause human error, which is the main cause of accidents. In this study, the dynamic fatigue recognition of unmanned electric locomotive operators under high-altitude, cold and low oxygen conditions was studied by combining physiological signals and multi-index information. The characteristic data from the physiological signals (ECG, EMG and EM) of 15 driverless electric locomotive operators were tracked and tested continuously in the field for 2 h, and a dynamic fatigue state evaluation model based on a first-order hidden Markov (HMM) dynamic Bayesian network was established.
