Background: Trauma video review (TVR) is an evolving technology that can be used to measure technical and non-technical aspects of trauma care leading to meaningful improvements. Only 30% of centers currently use TVR, with non-users citing medicolegal concerns, staff discomfort with recording, and resource constraints as barriers to implementation. Multiple studies have shown established TVR programs are well-perceived by staff.

Corals have been used as geochemical proxies since the 1970s, playing a prominent role in paleoceanography. However, it has not been well elucidated how aqueous ions sourced from seawater are transported and precipitated in coral skeletons. There are limited foundational methods to differentiate and quantify biogenic and abiogenic effects during skeletal formation.

Despite a rapidly evolving role for advanced therapeutic interventions, the majority of patients with high-risk pulmonary embolism (PE) are still undertreated. Due to complex diagnosis and management, along with a high associated mortality rate, high-risk PE offers an excellent opportunity for simulation training. We present a simulated case of high-risk PE in a post-operative patient that is designed to teach key principles of diagnosis and management.

Introduction: Recommendations for surgery of diverticular abscesses continue to evolve. This study aimed to examine the short- and long-term results of nonoperative management of diverticular abscesses while analyzing granular data to assess for predictive factors for successful treatment.
Materials And Methods: We analyzed patients admitted with diverticular abscesses at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital from 2010 to 2020 who received initial planned nonoperative management.
