A novel Alzheimer detection rapid-testing low-cost technique by a gate engineered gate stack dual-gate FET device.

Talanta

December 2024

Nextgen Adaptive Systems Group, Department of Electrical Engineering, National Institute of Technology Patna, Bihar, India. Electronic address:

This study explores a quick, low-cost method to detect Alzheimer's disease (AD) by evaluating the accomplishment of a Gate-Stack (GS) Field Effect Transistor (FET). We investigate Single-Metal (SM), Dual-Metal (DM), and Tri-Metal Double Gate (DG) configurations, where cavities have been created by etching the oxide layer underneath the gate to immobilize grey matter samples collected through Solid-phase microextraction (SPME). Healthy and AD-affected grey matter have different dielectric characteristics at high frequencies.

Hydroxyl Spillover in Fe-Se Dual-Site Catalysts for Mixed Plastics Assay.

J Am Chem Soc

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Green Pesticide, International Joint Research Center for Intelligent Biosensing Technology and Health, College of Chemistry, Central China Normal University, Wuhan 430079, P. R. China.

The complex composition of real plastic wastes poses a significant challenge for their large-scale disposal. A responsive on-site compositional analysis of plastics is informative in choosing downstream processing methods. Nanocatalyst-based assay kit is highly qualified for this scene; however, there remain no efficient nanocatalysts for plastics due to their highly inert chemistry.

International Consensus Statement on Platelet Function and Genetic Testing in Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: 2024 Update.

JACC Cardiovasc Interv

November 2024

Medizinische Klinik und Poliklinik I, University Hospital Munich, Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany; Privatklinik Lauterbacher Mühle am Ostsee, Seeshaupt, Germany.

Current evidence indicates that dual antiplatelet therapy with aspirin plus a P2Y inhibitor is essential for the prevention of thrombotic events after percutaneous coronary interventions. However, dual antiplatelet therapy is associated with increased bleeding which may outweigh the benefits. This has set the foundations for customizing antiplatelet treatments to the individual patient.

Strategy for Accurate Detection of Six Tropane Alkaloids in Honey Using Lateral Flow Immunosensors.

Sensors (Basel)

November 2024

National Key Laboratory of Veterinary Public Health Security, Beijing Key Laboratory of Detection Technology for Animal-Derived Food Safety, Beijing Laboratory for Food Quality and Safety, Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Veterinary Medicine, China Agricultural University, Beijing 100193, China.

Honey, a widely consumed food, is susceptible to contamination by various toxic substances during production. Tropane alkaloids, with their potent neurotoxicity, are frequently found in honey. Hence, there is an acute need for rapid and effective detection methods to monitor these alkaloids.

Spherical biosamples such as immunobeads, cells, and cell aggregates have been widely used in bioapplications. The bioactivity of individual spherical biosamples in highly sensitive assays and individual analyses must be evaluated in a high-throughput manner. Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) imaging was recently proposed for the high-throughput analysis of diffusive molecules from spherical biosamples.
