Molecular composites, such as bone and nacre, are everywhere in nature and play crucial roles, ranging from self-defense to carbon sequestration. Extensive research has been conducted on constructing inorganic layered materials at an atomic level inspired by natural composites. These layered materials exfoliated to 2D crystals are an emerging family of nanomaterials with extraordinary properties.

In the last decade, momentous progress in lead halide perovskite (LHP) light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is witnessed as their external quantum efficiency (η) has increased from 0.1 to more than 30%. Indeed, perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs), which can in principle reach 100% internal quantum efficiency as they are not limited by the spin-statistics, are reaching their full potential and approaching the theoretical limit in terms of device efficiency.

The preparation of so-called hybrid nanomaterials has been widely developed in terms of functional and morphological complexity. However, the specific control of the arrangement of organic and inorganic species, which determines the properties of the final material, still remains a challenge. This article offers a review of the strategies that have been used for the preparation of polymer-inorganic hybrid nanoparticles and nanocapsules via processes involving miniemulsions.

Owing to the unique synergistic effect, dinuclear-metal-molecule-catalysts (DMCs) show excellent performance in catalytic fields. However, for overall photocatalytic CO reaction (CORR), it is still a challenge to construct well-matched photosensitizer (PS) components for DMCs-based photocatalysts. Inorganic-quantum-dot PS possesses capacities of multiple exciton generation and catalyzing water oxidation but is incompatible with DMCs.

Copper-based nanomaterials are effective alternatives to traditional pesticides due to their antibacterial properties. However, the high cost and low dispersity limit their application. In this study, we synthesized cost-effective, eco-friendly, and stable chitosan-copper hybrid nanoflowers (CS-Cu HNFs) through facile self-assembly to manage agricultural diseases caused by the fungal pathogen ().
