Background: Prior studies have shown that myocardial fibrosis can be detected by late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) of cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) and might be associated with higher mortality risk in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). The objective of this study was to examine the prognostic utility of CMR in patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) undergoing alcohol septal ablation (ASA).
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study which consisted of 183 consecutive patients with symptomatic drug-refractory HOCM who underwent CMR for assessment of myocardial fibrosis before ASA.

Background: Prior to any revascularization procedure for coronary artery disease, it is essential to identify viable myocardium which will likely benefit from it. In such a situation, delayed enhanced cardiac MRI is beneficial.
Methods: Our study consisted of 50 patients with at least a one-month prior history of myocardial infarction (MI), abnormal findings on electrocardiography (ECG), and 2D-echocardiography (2D-ECHO), who were subjected to cardiac MRI performed on a 3T MRI machine.

Sarcoidosis is a systemic granulomatous disease of unknown etiology, and its clinical presentation depends on the affected organ. Cardiac sarcoidosis (CS) is one of the leading causes of death among patients with sarcoidosis. The clinical manifestations of CS are heterogeneous, and range from asymptomatic to life-threatening arrhythmias and progressive heart failure due to the extent and location of granulomatous inflammation in the myocardium.

Introduction: Atrial Fibrillation (AF) is associated with remodeling of the atrial tissue, which leads to fibrosis that can contribute to the initiation and maintenance of AF. Delayed- Enhanced Cardiac Magnetic Resonance (DE-CMR) imaging for atrial wall fibrosis detection was used in several studies to guide AF ablation. The aim of present study was to systematically review the literature on the role of atrial fibrosis detected by DE-CMR imaging on AF ablation outcome.
