Childhood burn accidents are still a problem all over the world. Besides the contractures and hypertrophic scar conditions, malignant transformation in the burn scar is one of the primary concerns later in adulthood. Marjolin ulcer, commonly seen after burn scar, is a neoplastic change in the scar tissue. The scalp region necessitates additional attention because of the inevitable structures it protects. The long-standing ulcers with malignant transformation may cause invasion of different layers of the scalp. As the cranium is invaded, reconstruction after wide excision of these tumors becomes more difficult to deal with. Scalp invasion of Marjolin ulcers with different levels is presented in the following study. Consistent with the literature, histopathology of the tumors was squamous cell carcinoma in most patients. Although rare, mesenchymal tumor is involved in 2 of 9 patients. The latent period of the tumor is inversely proportional to the age at the time of burn injury. As the patient is younger at the time of injury, the occurrence of the ulcer is longer than expected. Lag period as long as 81 years is detected in the study. The delayed diagnosis due to social considerations such as financial limitations increases the likelihood of cranial invasion. A single huge scalp flap is often sufficient for soft tissue defects, and cranioplasty with methyl methacrylate is an appropriate option for reconstruction.

Hypertrophic scar (HS) is a disease with excessive skin fibrosis and collagen disorder, which is generally caused by abnormal wound repair process after burn and trauma. Although intralesional injection of 5-fluorouracil (5-Fu) has been used in clinical treatment of HS, the patients' compliance of injection treatment is poor. In this study, a double-layer dissolution microneedle (MN) containing asiaticoside (AS) and 5-Fu was designed for the treatment of HS.

We aimed to compare the scar quality and recovery rate of joint activity for patients with joint-involved burn injuries receiving either artificial dermis (AD) with split-thickness skin graft (STSG) or full-thickness skin graft (FTSG) for reconstruction. Burn care and treatment differ markedly from other types of wounds, as they are significantly more prone to infections and struggle to maintain fluid balance post-burn. Moreover, the limited self-healing abilities exacerbate the likelihood of scar formation, further complicating the recovery process. To tackle these issues, an asymmetric wound dressing comprising a quercetin-loaded poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-4-hydroxybutyrate) (P34HB@Qu) hydrophilic layer and a zinc oxide nanoparticle-loaded, thermally treated polyvinylidene fluoride (HPVDF@ZnO) hydrophobic layer is designed.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of minimally invasive dermabrasion for deep second-degree facial burn wounds during the early postburn phase.
Methods: A total of 35 patients with deep second-degree facial burns underwent minimally invasive debridement using a hydrosurgery system within 2-4 days post-injury. Subsequently, the wounds were covered with human biological dressings.
