Reproductive rights and reproductive justice paradigms have long been viewed as incompatible, largely because of their divergent orientations to the notion of choice. According to this oppositional framing, reproductive rights approaches have centered the right of (white, middle-class, heterosexual) women to choose not to have children while reproductive justice organizing has focused on gendered, racialized, and classed obstacles to control over whether and how to have and raise children. Amid increasing examination of assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs) vis-à-vis human rights principles, I see an opportunity to narrow the perceived gap between the politics of rights and justice.

Lobectomy sufficiency for 1-4 cm differential thyroid cancer: a large retrospective study in China.

This study aimed to determine whether lobectomy is appropriate for the long-term prognosis of 1-4-cm-sized differential thyroid cancer (DTC). This retrospective study included 2,178 patients with 1-4-cm DTC treated via thyroid lobectomy (LT) or total or near-total thyroidectomy (TT) and who were followed up for at least 3 years. The primary endpoint was a structural incomplete response, which was confirmed via imaging with or without a positive histological or cytological examination.

Background And Aims: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is widespread in the population and is characterized by the risk of developing Barrett's esophagus and associated adenocarcinoma. Key factors in the progression of the disease are not only the frequency and duration of reflux episodes, but also the resistance of the esophageal mucosa to aggressive reflux molecules. Assessment of the state of tight junction proteins, the rate of their recovery under the influence of various treatment regimens is an urgent task for choosing optimal approaches to curing patients with GERD.
