Background: Overeruption of an upper molar following loss of the opposing tooth is a common clinical finding. Rehabilitation can be difficult when the interocclusal space is reduced.
Aim: To intrude an overerupted upper first molar and replace the missing lower first molar.
Methods: Buccal and palatal microscrews and a transpalatal bar were placed. The palatal miniscrew loosened shortly after implantation and was not replaced. A short length of elastomeric chain from the buccal miniscrew applied 30 g of force to the overerupted molar. The elastomeric chain was replaced every four weeks.
Results: Sufficient intrusion of the upper molar was obtained in 4 months.
Conclusion: A single buccal microscrew and transpalatal arch can be used to intrude an overerupted upper molar.

Background: Gingival recession defects (GRDs) pose functional and esthetic concerns and may be associated with unfavorable tooth positions. Surgically facilitated orthodontic treatment (SFOT) with clear aligners can be a valuable option for adults with severe malocclusion and GRDs.
Methods: A 28-year-old male presented with severe dental crowding, Class III dental malocclusion, localized tooth crossbites, and tapered maxillary arch.
Introduction: Children with early childhood caries (ECC) show different caries severities and susceptibility in different tooth types and location in the oral cavity. The study aimed to investigate differences in the oral microbiome in ECC subjects stratified according to the severity of caries and between more and less caries prone teeth within the same subjects.
Methods: Supragingival plaque from the upper and lower anterior regions in the oral cavity of subjects were collected in 3 groups of increasing caries severity, G1 - Molar (M) caries only; G2 - Molar and Upper Anterior (UA) caries; and G3 - M + UA + lower anterior (LA) caries were obtained followed by microbiome analysis.
