Third-party support for strike action.

Labor strikes are often seen as battles for public support. Members of the public are asked to show respect for a strike by refusing to cross the picket line or by joining strikers on the picket line. Such public support may affect the morale of strikers and influence the strike's duration. Despite the perceived importance of the public in labor disputes, members of third parties have not been considered in previous strike research. In 2 studies, the authors show that a new measure of third-party strike support is unidimensional and highly reliable. In both cases, union attitudes and perceptions of distributive justice were significant predictors of support for strike action. Those who are more supportive of unions in general and believe that the contract offered to the strikers was unfair were more likely to support the strike by engaging in such actions as conversing with strikers, writing letters, and refusing to cross the picket line.

Introduction: The rapid urbanization of rural regions, along with an aging population, has resulted in a substantial manpower scarcity for agricultural output, necessitating the urgent development of highly intelligent and accurate agricultural equipment technologies.

Methods: This research introduces YOLOv8-PSS, an enhanced lightweight obstacle detection model, to increase the effectiveness and safety of unmanned agricultural robots in intricate field situations. This YOLOv8-based model incorporates a depth camera to precisely identify and locate impediments in the way of autonomous agricultural equipment.

Healthcare is increasingly impacted by chronic short staffing of nurses, which causes and is caused by increased nurse burnout and decreased retention. Nurses' unions seek to address these problems by proposing safer nurse-to-patient ratios, retention bonuses for working through the COVID-19 pandemic, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) stockpiles, sabbatical leaves, measures aimed at reducing workplace violence, and maintaining or increasing wages and benefits to keep nurses at the bedside. Chronic short staffing and burnout directly affect the quality and availability of patient care-as the International Council of Nurses has pointed out, there is no healthcare without healthcare workers.

This study explores the risk management challenges associated with safety-critical systems required to execute specific missions. The working component experiences degradation governed by a continuous-time discrete-state Markov chain, whose failure leads to an immediate system breakdown and safety losses. To enhance system survivability, a limited number of identical spares are available for online replacement throughout the mission.

In this work, taking wells LD1, LD2, and LY2 in the Laifeng-Xianfeng area as the research target, through core description, intensive core sampling, experimental analysis, imaging logging and other methods, the characteristics of graptolite zone development, organic carbon content, mineral composition, shale reservoir properties and the gas-bearing properties of the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation shale are systematically analyzed. The main factors affecting the gas-bearing capacity of the Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation shale are extensively evaluated. The results reveal the following: ① The Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation shale, which was deposited in a deep-water shelf environment, has a large thickness (50-60 m) and a stable distribution.
