Unlabelled: Due to its natural influenza susceptibility, clinical signs, transmission, and similar sialic acid residue distribution, the ferret is the primary animal model for human influenza research. Antibodies generated following infection of ferrets with human influenza viruses are used in surveillance to detect antigenic drift and cross-reactivity with vaccine viruses and circulating strains. Inoculation of ferrets, with over 1,500 human clinical influenza isolates (1998-2019) resulted in lower antibody responses (HI <1:160) to 86% (387 out of 448) influenza B viruses (IBVs) compared to 2.

Valvular heart disease (VHD) poses a significant threat to human health, and the transcatheter heart valve replacement (THVR) is the best treatment for severe VHD. Currently, the glutaraldehyde cross-linked commercial bioprosthetic heart valves (BHVs) remain the first choice for THVR. However, the cross-linking by glutaraldehyde exhibits several drawbacks, including calcification, inflammatory reactions, and difficult endothelialization, which limits the longevity and applicability of BHVs.

Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) impact outcomes, with most research focusing on early prediction (baseline data), rather than near-term prediction (one cycle before the occurrence of irAEs and the current cycle). We aimed to explore the near-term predictive value of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR), absolute eosinophil count (AEC) for severe irAEs induced by PD-1 inhibitors. Data were collected from tumor patients treated with PD-1 inhibitors.

Effective isolation of specific antibodies from immunological repertoires requires the generation of a diverse library against a specific antigen of interest, as well as efficient selection procedures, such as bio-panning and phage ELISA. Key to this is the generation of a good immune response in the host, followed by preparation of high-quality RNA and cDNA from which a library can be constructed by the amplification and cloning of immunoglobulin heavy and light chain genes. The first step in the construction of such an "immune library" is a successful course of immunization.

Molecular ions that are generated by chemical reactions with trapped atomic ions can serve as an accessible testbed for developing molecular quantum technologies. On the other hand, they are also a hindrance to scaling up quantum computers based on atomic ions, as unavoidable reactions with background gases destroy the information carriers. Here, we investigate the single- and two-photon dissociation processes of single CaOH+ molecular ions co-trapped in Ca+ ion crystals using a femtosecond laser system.
