The optical emission process of atomic hydrogen (Halpha, Hbeta, Hgamma), atomic carbon C(2p3s2p2 : lambda = 165.7 nm) and radical CH(A2delta --> X2II: lambda = 420-440 nm) in diamond film growth by electron-assisted chemical vapor deposition (EACVD) from a gas mixture of CH4 and H2 was studied by using Monte-Carlo simulation. The variation of the emission lines with gas pressure (0.1-12.5 kPa) of different substrate temperatures (573-1 173 K) was investigated. And the results show that at different substrate temperatures the intensity of all the emission lines increase with increasing gas pressure at first, whereas decreased afterward. Furthermore, the emission lines intensity decreases with increasing substrate temperature at a relative low gas pressure, while increases with increasing substrate temperature at the higher gas pressure.

In-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) has been understudied relative to out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Further, studies of IHCA have mainly focused on a limited number of pre-arrest patient characteristics (e.g.

Background: Household air pollution is a major contributor to cardiovascular disease burden in women in Sub-Saharan Africa. However, little is known about exposures during pregnancy or the effect of clean cooking interventions on postpartum blood pressure trajectories.

Methods: The Ghana Randomized Air Pollution and Health Study (GRAPHS) randomized 1414 non-smoking women in the first and second trimesters to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) or improved biomass stoves - vs control (traditional three-stone open fire).

When Photoelectrons Meet Gas Molecules: Determining the Role of Inelastic Scattering in Ambient Pressure X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy.

Chemical Sciences Division, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, California 94720, United States.

Inelastic photoelectron scattering (IPES) by gas molecules, a critical phenomenon observed in ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (APXPS), complicates spectral interpretation due to kinetic energy loss in the primary spectrum and the appearance of additional features at higher binding energies. In this study, we systematically investigate IPES in various gas environments using APXPS, providing detailed insights into interactions between photoelectrons emitted from solid surfaces and surrounding gas molecules. Core-level XPS spectra of Au, Ag, Zn, and Cu metals were recorded over a wide kinetic energy range in the presence of CO, N, Ar, and H gases, demonstrating the universal nature of IPES across different systems.

In waterflooding development of narrow channel reservoirs, the water cut rises quickly, and the reservoir becomes nearly fully flooded, yet oil recovery remains low. The narrow strip sand body and long-term water injection create a complex oil and water distribution, making it difficult to evaluate the degree of reservoir utilization during waterflooding. This paper establishes a practical streamline method to quantitatively characterize the waterflooding mobilization degree of narrow channel reservoirs.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of injecting flue gas (CO, N, and O) originating from coal-fired power plants into a coal seam on CH extraction and CO geological storage. To this end, a multifield thermal-fluid-solid-coupled mathematical model of flue gas injection extraction was established. The results showed that with the increase in time increase, the volume concentration of CH decreased, but the CO, N, and O increased.
