Purpose: With the ever-increasing average life expectancy and rising age of retirement, cognitive and work capacities in advanced age take on great importance. Cognitive impairments, however, increase with age. The effect of cognitive-training programmes on people with mild cognitive impairment has not been verified in any systematic investigations.
Method: This study presents a cognitive-training programme designed for middle-aged employees that was implemented and evaluated at the Psychosomatic Clinic Bad Neustadt/Saale in an AB study design (A: no intervention; B: intervention).
Results: Memory performance of the intervention group (n = 33) improved significantly between intake and discharge, compared with that of the control group (n = 40), as did self-ratings of memory and work-related attitudes.
Conclusions: A cognitive-training programme is useful and effective in patients with mild cognitive impairment. Future studies should investigate how older or more severely impaired patients benefit from such a programme.

Introduction: Recent health crises, like COVID-19, have increased the need for nurses with public health competencies, but students lack knowledge and are unconvinced of the importance of the field.
Methods: Pre-licensure nursing students (n = 341) engaged with a public health simulation-infused program (PHSIP) that scaffolded throughout the curriculum. Background: Promoting physical activity among people living with dementia is critical to maximise physical, cognitive and social benefits; yet the lack of knowledge, skills and confidence among health professionals, informal care partners and people with dementia deters participation. As the initial phase of a larger feasibility study, co-design was employed to develop a new model of community care, to facilitate the physical activity participation of older people living with mild dementia.
Methods: Co-design methodology was utilised with nine stakeholders (with experience in referring to or providing physical activity programs and/or contributing to policy and program planning) over three workshops plus individual interviews with four care partners of people with dementia.
