Transformer-Based Tool for Automated Fact-Checking: A Pilot Study on Online Health Information.

JMIR Infodemiology

December 2024

Department of Management, Evaluation and Health Policy, School of Public Health, Université de Montréal, Montreal, CA.

Background: Many people seek health-related information online. The significance of reliable information became particularly evident due to the potential dangers of misinformation. Therefore, discerning true and reliable information from false information has become increasingly challenging.

Dynamic density functional theory (DDFT) is a fruitful approach for modeling polymer dynamics, benefiting from its multiscale and hybrid nature. However, the Onsager coefficient, the only free parameter in DDFT, is primarily derived empirically, limiting the accuracy and broad application of DDFT. Herein, we propose a machine learning-based, bottom-up workflow to directly extract the Onsager coefficient from molecular simulations, circumventing partly heuristic assumptions in traditional approaches.

Functionally Graded Oxide Scale on (Hf,Zr,Ti)B Coating with Exceptional Ablation Resistance Induced by Unique Ti Dissolving.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

January 2025

Shaanxi Key Laboratory of Fiber Reinforced Light-Weight Composites, State Key Laboratory of Solidification Processing, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, 710072, China.

Multicomponent Ti-containing ultra-high temperature ceramics (UHTCs) have emerged as more promising ablation-resistant materials than typical UHTCs for applications above 2000 °C. However, the underlying mechanism of Ti improving the ablation performance is still obscure. Here, (Hf,Zr,Ti)B coatings are fabricated by supersonic atmospheric plasma spraying, and the effects of Ti content on the ablation performance under an oxyacetylene flame are investigated.

Re-evaluation and revision of the Eating Habits Questionnaire.

Psychiatr Hung

January 2025

Semmelweis University, Faculty of Medicine, Institute of Behavioural Sciences, Budapest, Hungary, E-mail:

Introduction: The Eating Habits Questionnaire (EHQ) is a key tool in evaluating orthorexia nervosa, an obsession with healthy eating. However, the evaluation process of EHQ has witnessed considerable variation, with one item notably excluded from the last phase of its development. This study undertakes a thorough re-evaluation of the English version of the EHQ, focusing on its original 35 items, within two diverse populations (fashion models and university students) where English serves predominantly as a second language.

Target identification is crucial for drug screening and development because it can reveal the mechanism of drug action and ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results. Chemical biology, an interdisciplinary field combining chemistry and biology, can assist in this process by studying the interactions between active molecular compounds and proteins and their physiological effects. It can also help predict potential drug targets or candidates, develop new biomarker assays and diagnostic reagents, and evaluate the selectivity and range of active compounds to reduce the risk of off-target effects.
