Cytomegalovirus colitis most commonly affects immunocompromised patients, although it is a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding in immunocompetent patients. Older age, chronic disease, and critical illness are also important risk factors and may lead providers to consider the diagnosis in otherwise immunocompetent patients. Endoscopic presentation is variable and does not significantly influence outcomes.

Rectal prolapse is a relatively rare condition where the rectal mucosa protrudes out of the anal canal. The diagnosis is made through a physical exam and clinical evaluation, and surgical treatment options can vary. Anal polyps masquerading as rectal prolapse have rarely been described in the literature.

Metastasis of prostate cancer to the gastrointestinal tract is infrequently described in the literature, with only a limited number of cases reporting metastasis to the rectum. We present a rare case of a 74-year-old man initially presenting with symptomatic anemia and weight loss. A colonoscopy revealed a sessile polyp in the splenic flexure.
