Objectives: The purpose of this meta-analysis was to conduct a comparative study by systematically examining and analyzing trials that studied the impacts of levodopa and bromocriptine, either separately or together, in treating Parkinson's disease (PD).
Methods: An extensive literature search was conducted across PubMed (Medline), Scopus, and Web of Science databases, using targeted keywords for studies published up to October 2024. The methodological quality of included RCTs was assessed with the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2 (RoB 2) tool, and bias evaluation was performed using RevMan (version 5).

Reports suggest possible risks of adverse cardiovascular reactions, including heart failure, associated with non-ergot dopamine agonist (DA) use in Parkinson's disease (PD). The objectives of our review were to evaluate the risk of heart failure and other adverse cardiovascular reactions in PD patients who received a non-ergot DA compared with other anti-PD pharmacological interventions, placebo, or no intervention. Studies were identified via searches of six bibliographic databases.

Contextual information is essential for learning and memory processes and plays a crucial role during the recall of extinction memory, and in the renewal effect, which is the context-dependent recovery of an extinguished response. The dopaminergic system is known to be involved in regulating attentional processes by shifting attention to novel and salient contextual cues. Higher dopamine levels are associated with a better recall of previously learned stimulus-outcome associations and enhanced encoding, as well as retrieval of contextual information which promotes renewal.

Intestinal drug solubility is a key parameter controlling absorption after the administration of a solid oral dosage form. The ability to measure fed state solubility in vitro is limited and multiple simulated intestinal fluid recipes have been developed but with no consensus which is optimal. This study has utilised nine bioequivalent simulated fed intestinal media recipes that cover over 90% of the compositional variability of sampled fed human intestinal fluid.

Background: Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) is one of the most prevalent monogenic human diseases. It is mostly caused by pathogenic variants in PKD1 or PKD2 genes that encode interacting transmembrane proteins polycystin-1 (PC1) and polycystin-2 (PC2). Among many pathogenic processes described in ADPKD, those associated with cAMP signaling, inflammation, and metabolic reprogramming appear to regulate the disease manifestations.
