Aim: To assess joint and extraarticular wrist lesions in RA patients with arthrosonography in the disease duration up to 6 months.

Material And Methods: 38 RA patients aged 40 +/- 10.5 years (25 females and 13 males) entered the study. These patients and 20 controls without musculoskeletal pathology matched by age and sex have undergone sonographic examination of the wrists and extrajoint structures.

Results: The following ultrasonographic signs of intra- and extra-articular inflammation were determined: joint cavity expansion, the presence of anechoic/hypoechoic synovial fluid, effusions, synovial thickening, digital flexor and extensor tenosynovitis, incongruous articular surfaces, bone erosions.

Conclusion: Wrist arthrosonography is an informative diagnostic method in early RA as it detects bone erosions, alterations in the cartilages, muscles, tendons and ligaments.

A 16-year-old adolescent girl presented with progressive walking imbalance, uncoordination of her limbs, impaired proprioceptive sensation distal to her wrists and ankles, and sensorineural hearing loss. Her evaluation revealed diffuse cerebellar atrophy, a demyelinating neuropathy, and hypergonadotropic hypogonadism. In this article, we present a systematic approach to a patient with early-onset ataxia, cerebellar atrophy, and demyelinating neuropathy.

Assessment of skeletal maturity is a common clinical practice to investigate adolescent growth and endocrine disorders. The distal radius and ulna (DRU) maturity classification is a practical and easy-to-use scheme that was designed for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis clinical management and presents high sensitivity in predicting the growth peak and cessation among adolescents. However, time-consuming and error-prone manual assessment limits DRU in clinical application.

We examined the effect of botulinum toxin-A on upper limb impairments and activity limitations in chronic stroke. This study is a secondary analysis of control group data from a national, multicenter, Phase III randomized trial with a masked outcome assessment. We studied 71 stroke survivors who received a botulinum toxin-A injection in any muscle(s) that crosses the wrist due to significant spasticity after a stroke greater than 3 months previously.

Department of Sports Science, College of Education, Zhejiang University, No. 866, Yuhangtang Road, Hangzhou, 310030, China, 86 18667127699.

Background: Smartwatches are increasingly popular for physical activity and health promotion. However, ongoing validation studies on commercial smartwatches are still needed to ensure their accuracy in assessing daily activity levels, which is important for both promoting activity-related health behaviors and serving research purposes.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of a popular smartwatch, the Huawei Watch GT2, in measuring step count (SC), total daily activity energy expenditure (TDAEE), and total sleep time (TST) during daily activities among Chinese adults, and test whether there are population differences.
