Many simulation environments - particularly those intended for medical simulation - require solid objects to deform at interactive rates, with deformation properties that correspond to real materials. Furthermore, new objects may be created frequently (for example, each time a new patient's data is processed), prohibiting manual intervention in the model preparation process. This paper provides a pipeline for rapid preparation of deformable objects with no manual intervention, specifically focusing on mesh generation (preparing solid meshes from surface models), automated calibration of models to finite element reference analyses (including a novel approach to reducing the complexity of calibrating nonhomogeneous objects), and automated skinning of meshes for interactive simulation.

Taking the titanium alloy wing-body connection joint at the rear beam of a certain type of aircraft as the research object, this study analyzed the failure mechanism and verified the structural safety of the wing-body connection joint under actual flight loads. Firstly, this study verified the validity of the loading system and the measuring system in the test system through the pre-test, and the repeatability of the test was analyzed for error to ensure the accuracy of the experimental data. Then, the test piece was subjected to 400,000 random load tests of flight takeoffs and landings, 100,000 Class A load tests, and ground-air-ground load tests, and the test piece fractured under the ground-air-ground load tests.

This paper proposes and implements a novel scheme for recording signals from fibre optic sensors based on tandem low-coherence interferometry with an integrated optical reference interferometer. The circuit allows precision control of the phase shift. Additionally, the paper illustrates the potential for detecting vibration and object deformation using fibre optic Fabry-Perot sensors connected to the registration system.

The binary collision of nanoscale droplets is studied with molecular dynamics simulation for droplets consisting of up to 2 × 10 molecules interacting via a truncated and shifted form of the Lennard-Jones potential. Considering head-on collisions of droplets with a temperature near the triple point that occur in a saturated vapor of the same fluid, this work explores a range of collision topologies. Four droplet sizes, with a radius ranging from 30 to 120 molecule diameters, are simulated with a varying initial relative collision velocity, covering 36 cases in total.

Purpose: Lung fissure segmentation on CT images often relies on 3D convolutional neural networks (CNNs). However, 3D-CNNs are inefficient for detecting thin structures like the fissures, which make up a tiny fraction of the entire image volume. We propose to make lung fissure segmentation more efficient by using geometric deep learning (GDL) on sparse point clouds.
