Today several monoclonal antibodies, including the anti-CD20 antibody (rituximab), the anti-CD52 antibody (alemtuzumab) and the anti-CD33 antibody (gemtuzumab ozogamacin) are all integrated in the therapeutic armamentarium of patients with malignant lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and acute myelogenous leukaemia, respectively. Rituximab has also been shown to be highly effective in the treatment of refractory autoimmune haemolytic anemias, idiopathic thrombocytopenia, and relapsing thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. New signal transduction inhibitors, dasatinib and nilotinib, are being used in patients with chronic myelogeneous leukaemia who develop resistance to imatinib. Thalidomide, lenalidomide and bortezomib have all been shown to be highly effective in multiple myeloma, and JAK2-inhibitors have entered phase II studies of patients with JAK2-positive primary myelofibrosis and related diseases.

To further demonstrate semiconductor facet effect to photocatalytic organic transformations and address a lack of using simple polyhedral semiconductor particles for disulfide bond formation, CuO cubes, octahedra, and rhombic dodecahedra were used to photocatalyze aerobic oxidation of 4-methylbenzenethiol. After reaction condition optimization, CuO crystals and ,,','-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA) were added to 4-methylbenzenethiol in ethanol for thiol oxidation to 1,2-di--tolyldisulfane under 390 nm light-emitting diode (LED) lamp irradiation for just 5 min. Rhombic dodecahedra gave the highest product yield, followed by octahedra, cubes, and commercial CuO powder.

Hydrogel-based solar interfacial evaporators, featuring various channels such as random, unidirectional, and radial array, are considered effective for seawater desalination owing to their porous structure, lower evaporation enthalpy, and controllable water transport capacity. However, each individual array structure has its own strengths and limitations, influencing water transportation, thermal management, and salt rejection. By combining the benefits of each array configuration into a single evaporator, the evaporation performance can be maximized.
