Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. Electronic address:
Background And Aims: An irregular z-line is characterized by a squamocolumnar junction (SCJ) that extends proximally above the gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) by < 1 centimeter (cm), while Barrett's esophagus (BE) is defined as a columnar lined esophagus (CLE) that extends proximally by ≥1 cm with the presence of specialized intestinal metaplasia (IM) on biopsy. Measurement of CLE is most accurate for lengths ≥1 cm, and as such, guidelines do not recommend biopsy of an irregular z-line when seen on endoscopy. However, a CLE is often estimated by visual inspection rather than direct measurement, making this characterization imprecise.

Purpose: Due to the need for high-quality teaching, we present a new blended learning concept combining digital modules, interactive seminars, and clinical experience. Furthermore, we evaluated its acceptance among students.
Methods: A new concept for teaching was applied to the radiotherapy module and made available via the Hannover Medical School (MHH) learning management system as part of a blended learning concept with educational films, multimedia learning modules, online seminars, and onsite practical training.

Identifying driver genes in cancer is a difficult task because of the heterogeneity of cancer as well as the complex interactions among genes. As sequencing data become more readily available, there is a growing need for detecting cancer driver genes based on statistical and mathematical modeling methods. Currently, plenty of driver gene identification algorithms have been published, but they fail to achieve consistent results.

Objectives: The clinical efficacy of the use of probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics and postbiotics (biotics) in cats is unknown, despite their use in daily practice. The objectives of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of biotic supplementation in treating and preventing gastroenteropathies, and in reducing gastrointestinal signs associated with antibiotics in cats.
Materials And Methods: A systematic review was conducted by searching four databases for publications before August 2, 2024, following a pre-registered protocol.

Background: Several factors can impair image quality and reliability of liver magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), such as inadequate driver positioning, insufficient wave propagation and patient-related factors.
Purpose: To report initial results on automatic classification of liver MRE image quality using various deep learning (DL) architectures.
Study Type: Retrospective, single center, IRB-approved human study.
