We detailed the practical methods of gift of the body and the functioning of the centers of gift of the body in France. The gift of the body is an ignored step, lacking a clear legal framework, which explains partly the disparities of operation noted within the various centers concerned. The doctors must be able to inform the patients and their families about the methods of the gift of the body.

Pathology found during cadaveric dissection has been used to model integrative teaching methods for medical students at several institutions. Recent evidence has shown that pathology found during dissection can be used in the design of self-directed learning (SDL) activities with standards that are difficult to meet. This study presents a novel method for providing formative feedback, one of the most challenging aspects for LCME accreditation of SDL activities.

An increasing body of literature supports the clinical benefit of nutritional assessment and optimization in surgical patients; however, this data has yet to be consolidated in a practical fashion for use by surgeons. In this narrative review, we concisely aggregate emerging data to highlight the role of nutritional optimization as a promising, practical perioperative intervention to reduce complications and improve outcomes in surgical patients. This review of the surgical nutrition literature was conducted via large database review.

Shaking in domestic dogs-a rapid side-to-side movement of the body or head-is a commonly observed behavior, yet its function remains minimally researched. The present study aimed to investigate the use of shaking behavior in naturalistic social contexts, with the hypothesis that shaking functions as a marker of transition between behaviors or activities. In addition, as the prior literature has suggested that shaking more frequently occurred in postures or conditions of stress, either to signal stress or to mitigate it, we looked at postures related to affect before and after shaking.

Inflammatory disorders historically have been difficult to monitor with conventional PET imaging due to limitations including radiation exposure, lack of validated imaging biomarkers, low spatial resolution, and long acquisition durations. However, the recent development of long-axial field-of-view (LAFOV) PET/CT scanners may allow utilization of novel noninvasive biomarkers to diagnose, predict outcomes, and monitor therapeutic response of inflammatory conditions. LAFOV PET scanners can image most of the human body (if not the entire body) simultaneously in one bed position, with improved signal collection efficiency compared to conventional PET scanners.
