Published: February 2008

Objective: To study the callus induction and plant regeneration of Ixeridium sonchifolium.

Method: By using the orthogonal experiment design, the medium for callus induction and plant regeneration was optimized.

Result: The optimal medium for callus induction was MS + 2, 4-D 1.5 mg x L(-1) +6-BA 1.5 mg x L(-1) +NAA 1.0 mg x L(-1) + IBA 1.5 mg x L(-1) + KT1.5 mg x L(-1), the optimal medium for inducing adventitious bud was MS +2, 4-D 0.2 mg x L(-1) +6-BA 0.5 mg x L(-1) + NAA 0.5 mg x L(-1) + IBA 0.5 mg x L(-1) + KT 0.5 mg x L(-1). Plantlets were rooted on 1/4MS medium supplemented with different concentrations of IBA, and high rooting and survival was achieved when the IBA concentration was 0.1 mg L(-1).

Conclusion: An efficient system for plant regeneration of I. sonchifolium was established.

The present experimental study aimed to assess the wound healing and anti-inflammatory effects of green synthesized copper nanoparticles (CuNPs) by the methanol extract of (Boiss), as a plant with various pharmacological effects, such as anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effects, in traditional and modern medicine. The precipitation approach was used for the green synthesis of CuNPs by mixing the methanol and copper sulfate solution. Cell viability and fibroblast proliferation assay were performed by MTT (3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-Diphenyltetrazolium Bromide) assay.

Polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) are a group of polymers with a variety of monomers, which are extracted from microorganisms and plants. Due to its good biocompatibility, biodegradability, tunable mechanical property and piezoelectricity, PHAs have been widely used in biomedical fields, such as bone, cartilage, nerve, vascular and skin tissue engineering. This review focuses on the in vivo synthesis, metabolism and biological functions of PHA, and the applications of PHAs in the field of tissue engineering and commercial were also summarized and discussed.

Single-population species (SPS) consist of only one natural population and often are at high risk of extinction. Although almost all species must go through this special stage in their evolutionary process, there is little understanding of how SPS survives. Camellia azalea C.

In many plant species, the application of exogenous phytohormones is crucial for initiating de novo shoot regeneration. However, ipecac [Carapichea ipecacuanha (Brot) L. Andersson] has a unique ability to develop adventitious shoots on the epidermis of internodal segments without phytohormone treatment.
