Soft tissue injury in open fracture of the lower extremity represents a challenging trauma that requires complex strategies to reconstruct both bony and soft tissue defects. Various options are available to cover the soft tissue defect in the lower extremities, from simple skin grafting to local fasciocutaneous and muscle flaps. However, when the injury is extensive and involves a large surface area, options for treatment of local flap coverage become limited.

In cases with thin gingival phenotype, treating infrabony defects surgically can worsen gingival recession and loss of papillae. This report outlines a surgical approach for addressing infrabony defects at sites with gingival recession and thin phenotype.

Background: Different from other parts of long bone fractures, surgical site infections (SSI) often occurs in open fractures of the hand (OFH) due to the anatomical characteristics and injury mechanisms. Our aim of the study is to investigate the particular risk factors of SSI after emergency surgery in OFH and develop a prediction nomogram model.
Methods: In our traumatic center, patients with OFH not less than 18 years old were retrieved between October 2020 and April 2024.

Introduction: Benign cartilage tumours with malignant transformation are reported very few. Aiming to report a secondary chondrosarcoma in proximal tibia after chondromyxoid fibroma: a rare entity with limited experience of management.
Case Presentation: we present a challenging case of secondary chondrosarcoma of proximal tibia in surgically managed chondromyxoid fibroma.

Many aquatic organisms utilize suction-based organs to adhere to diverse substrates in unpredictable environments. For multiple fish species, these adhesive discs include a softer disc margin consisting of surface structures called papillae, which stabilize and seal on variable substrates. The size, arrangement, and density of these papillae are quite diverse among different species, generating complex disc patterns produced by these structures.
