Background & Objective: Uterine carcinosarcoma, also known as malignant mixed mullerian tumors, is an uncommon neoplasm that carries a poor prognosis. This study was to analyze the clinical manifestation, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of this disease.
Methods: Clinical data of 12 uterine carcinosarcoma patients, diagnosed in Cancer Center of Sun Yat-sen University from 1978 to 2004, were analyzed.
Results: Of the 12 cases of uterine carcinosarcoma, 2 were in the cervix, 10 in the corpus uteri. The main clinical manifestation of cervical carcinosarcoma was contact vaginal bleeding. Carcinosarcoma in the corpus uteri manifested abnormal vaginal bleeding and postmenstrual bleeding. Diagnosis depended on pathology. Twelve patients undergone operation. Eight patients received chemotherapy and 2 received radiotherapy after operation. One cervical carcinosarcoma patient died within 2 year. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates of the 12 patients were 80.0%, 50.0%, and 50.0%,respectively.
Conclusions: Primary surgery is the main treatment for uterine carcinosarcoma. The prognosis of uterine carcinosarcoma is associated with surgicopathologic stage and treatment modalities.

Introduction: Uterine carcinosarcoma (UCS) and uterine sarcomas (US) are rare but aggressive cancer with poor prognoses. The prognostic value of systemic inflammatory response (SIR) indicators, including the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), in predicting outcomes of UCS and US remains unclear. This study investigated the prognostic significance of SIR indicators for UCS and US.

Background And Aim: Growth factor receptor-bound protein 7 (GRB7) belongs to a group of adaptor proteins characterized by their conserved multidomain structure. These proteins are involved in cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation. Alterations in GRB7 expression have been linked to multiple human cancers.

Background: Although rare, uterine sarcomas account for a high proportion of uterine cancer mortality. Treatment options and robust trial data are limited.
Objectives: The TOURISM study (Treatment Outcomes in UteRIne SarcoMa) is a UK-wide study by the National Oncology Trainees Collaborative for Healthcare Research which aimed to characterise this patient cohort.

Objectives: Endometrial carcinosarcoma is a rare, aggressive high-grade endometrial cancer, accounting for about 5% of all uterine cancers and 15% of deaths from uterine cancers. The treatment can be complex, and the prognosis is poor. Its increasing incidence underscores the urgent requirement for personalized approaches in managing such challenging diseases.
