To address the pressing challenge of antibiotic resistance, particularly the robust defense mechanisms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) against conventional antibiotics, this study employs nanotechnology to enhance antimicrobial efficacy while ensuring good biocompatibility with the host. In this study, gold nanoparticles were chemically decorated with eugenol, a phenol-rich natural compound, using a one-pot synthesis method.

We report the laparoscopic removal of a foreign body that was embedded in the abdominal wall. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first reported case of a foreign body in the abdominal wall being laparoscopically removed. A 27-year-old man working at a forging factory presented to our hospital with abdominal pain.

Late-stage epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) involves the widespread dissemination of malignant disease throughout the peritoneal cavity, often accompanied by ascites. EOC metastasis relies on the formation of multicellular aggregates, called spheroids. Given that Liver Kinase B1 (LKB1) is required for EOC spheroid viability and LKB1 loss in EOC cells decreases tumor burden in mice, we investigated whether the LKB1 complex controls the invasive properties of human EOC spheroids.

The parasites are one of the important protozoa species affecting domestic poultry and wild birds. Though there are frequent reports about the incidence of in wild birds, the information regarding the occurrence of commercial poultry is underestimated. From October 2015 to August 2022, ailing and dead birds from 39 commercial layer flocks were submitted to the Poultry Disease Diagnosis and Surveillance Laboratory, Namakkal, with a history of brief illness, followed by mortality with oozing of blood from oro-nasal orifice.
