Fe(III) containing mesoporous materials (FeMMSH) with zeolite building units were first time synthesized. XRD and N2 adsorption/desorption analysis confirm the mesoporous characters similar to MCM-48. FT-IR analysis of FeMMSH showed an additional band at about 530-550 cm(-1), characteristic of double five-membered ring of zeolite (ZSM-5) secondary building unit. The Fe(III) in FeMMSH materials is present in tetrahedral, and distorted tetrahedral framework are evident from EPR and DRUV-VIS spectra.

Background: Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) is a chronic pediatric illness, whereby youth experience physical, emotional and psychosocial challenges that result in reduced health related quality of life (HRQL). Peer mentoring has been shown to improve disease self-management in adults with chronic conditions, with mixed results in younger populations. Building on our pilot work - which supported the feasibility and initial effectiveness of the iPeer2Peer program - the objective of this study was to assess the clinical effectiveness of the program in youth with JIA through a waitlist randomized controlled trial.

Most pancreatic cancer patients are diagnosed at advanced stages, with poor survival rates and drug resistance making pancreatic cancer one of the highest causes of cancer death in the UK. Understanding the underlying mechanism behind its carcinogenesis, metastasis and drug resistance has become an essential task for researchers. We have discovered that a well-established tumour suppressor, EPLIN, has an oncogenic rather than suppressive role in pancreatic cancer.

Long-term control of viral replication relies on the efficient differentiation of memory T cells into effector T cells during secondary immune responses. Recent findings have identified T cell precursors for both memory and exhausted T cells, suggesting the existence of progenitor-like effector T cells. These cells can persist without antigenic challenge but expand and acquire effector functions upon recall immune responses.
