Objectives: This study aimed to assess the use of combined multichannel intraluminal impedance and pH studies (MII-pH) in a large group of symptomatic young infants, to characterize the occurrence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and to establish temporal association of the reflux behaviors with gastroesophageal reflux using symptom indices.
Study Design: This is a retrospective cohort study on 181 infants who underwent MII-pH studies for clinical behaviors that were suggestive of GERD. Symptom index (SI) and symptom association probability (SAP) were used to establish symptom association with reflux.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of distal esophageal mean nocturnal baseline impedance (MNBI), a general marker of esophageal mucosal barrier integrity, in predicting laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR) and symptomatic response to acid reflux therapy.
Methods: This retrospective study analyzed 173 patients who presented with symptoms of laryngopharyngeal reflux and underwent 24-h multichannel intraluminal impedance-pH (MII-pH) testing. Mean nocturnal baseline impedance values were calculated and assessed for their association and ability to predict LPR symptoms, MII-pH results, treatment response, and other markers of LPR.

Healthy synovium is critical for joint homeostasis. Synovial inflammation (synovitis) is implicated in the onset, progression and symptomatic presentation of arthritic joint diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Thus, the synovium is a promising target for the development of novel, disease-modifying therapeutics.

Background: Gastroesophageal reflux (GER) has been associated with poor outcomes after lung transplantation for chronic lung disease, including increased risk of chronic rejection. GER is common in cystic fibrosis (CF), but factors influencing the likelihood of pre-transplant pH testing, and the impact of testing on clinical management and transplant outcomes in patients with CF are unknown.
Aim: To evaluate the role of pre-transplant reflux testing in the evaluation of lung transplant candidates with CF.

Objective: The aim of this study is to explore whether cortical activation and its lateralization during motor imagery (MI) in subacute spinal cord injury (SCI) are indicative of existing or upcoming central neuropathic pain (CNP).
Methods: Multichannel electroencephalogram was recorded during MI of both hands in four groups of participants: able-bodied (N = 10), SCI and CNP (N = 11), SCI who developed CNP within 6 months of EEG recording (N = 10), and SCI who remained CNP-free (N = 10). Source activations and its lateralization were derived in four frequency bands in 20 regions spanning sensorimotor cortex and pain matrix.
