Frovatriptan is a 5-HT(1B/1D) receptor agonist that belongs to the triptan therapeutic class. Relative to other triptans, frovatriptan has a long half-life (26 h) and a low incidence of migraine recurrence (17%). Frovatriptan is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine with or without aura, and has a relatively good safety and tolerability profile. Recent studies have also shown that a 6-day regimen of frovatriptan scheduled during the perimenstrual period significantly reduced the incidence and severity of menstrual migraine (MM; attacks that regularly start day -2 to +3 relative to menses). Prevention may be important because MM attacks have been characterized as being of longer duration, more severe and more refractory to treatment than non-MM attacks.

Around one-quarter of all patients undergoing cardiac procedures, particularly those on cardiopulmonary bypass, develop cardiac surgery-associated acute kidney injury (CSA-AKI). This complication increases the risk of several serious morbidities and of mortality, representing a significant burden for both patients and the healthcare system. Patients with diminished kidney function before surgery, such as those with chronic kidney disease, are at heightened risk of developing CSA-AKI and have poorer outcomes than patients without preexisting kidney injury who develop CSA-AKI.

This article primarily discusses the efficacy and safety of atropine (ATR) plus omeprazole (OME) for the treatment of acute gastritis (AG). From May 2022 to May 2024, 95 AG patients were selected, including 50 cases treated with ATR+OME (observation group) and 45 cases with anisodamine (ADM) plus OME (control group). Comparative analyses of the following dimensions were then carried out: Clinical efficacy, safety (xerostomia, palpitations and headaches), symptom remission time (stomach pain, abdominal distension and nausea and vomiting), serum inflammatory factors (tumor necrosis factor [TNF]-α, interleukin [IL]-6 and interferon [IFN]-β) and plasma gastrointestinal hormones (epidermal growth factor [EGF], gastrin [GAS] and somatostatin [SS]).

Background: The growing demand for healthcare services challenges patient flow management in health systems. Alternative Level of Care (ALC) patients who no longer need acute care yet face discharge barriers contribute to prolonged stays and hospital overcrowding. Predicting these patients at admission allows for better resource planning, reducing bottlenecks, and improving flow.

African swine fever (ASF) is an acute hemorrhagic disease in pigs caused by the African swine fever virus (ASFV), which has a high mortality rate and brought great damage to global pig farming industry. At present, there is no effective treatment or vaccine to combat ASFV infection, so early detection of ASFV has become particularly important. Therefore, the PDMS/chitosan/MPMs composite film was proposed to detect ASFV P72.

To evaluate the safety and efficacy of dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) versus tenecteplase in minor non-disabling acute ischemic stroke. This retrospective observational study utilized data from our stroke database. All consecutive patients with minor non-disabling acute ischemic stroke treated with either DAPT or tenecteplase between January 2020 and June 2023 were included in the analysis.
