Life with chronic disease and chronic care is hard and people who live in disadvantage may lack the freedom to prioritise their care because of increased competing demands. This paper proposes that shifting the goals of chronic care from self-management support to a shared-management approach can help improve wellbeing and health outcomes across social groups. This work draws on a qualitative exploration of the lived experience of chronic disease and an applied ethical analysis of the reproduction of disadvantages within chronic care.

Background: While the adverse effects of substance use during pregnancy are well-established, the impact men with criminal-legal involvement who use substances have on their partner's substance-using behaviors is not well characterized. We aim to understand men's experiences and perspectives about how their substance use impacts romantic partner substance use in the preconception period, before a potential or actual pregnancy.
Methods: We conducted semi-structured interviews with men residing in a transition center in the Midwestern US with a substance use disorder (SUD) who partnered with women.

We combined the Symani with the robotic exoscope RoboticScope to achieve maximum flexibility and ergonomics for the microsurgeon.

Purpose: Spousal authorisation for abortion (SA) is in direct conflict with the right to bodily autonomy. The World Health Organisation guideline on abortion specifically recommends that abortion should be available on request without third-party authorisation. The objectives of this study were to: a) determine which countries insist by law on SA, b) describe shared characteristics of these countries, c) assess the impact of such legislation on access to abortion and d) evaluate the chances of repeal of such laws.
