The brain is an exceptionally lipid-rich organ with a very complex lipid composition. Lipids are central in several neuronal processes, including membrane formation and fusion, myelin packing, and lipid-mediated signal transmission. Lipid diversity is associated with the evolution of higher cognitive abilities in primates, is affected by neuronal activity, and is instrumental for synaptic plasticity, illustrating that lipids are not static components of synaptic membranes.

Background: Lewy body pathology (LBP) is common in autosomal dominant (ADAD) or sporadic Alzheimer disease (sAD). LBP seems to be the most frequent co-pathology in sAD and even in the relatively young ADAD population, where other co-pathologies are rare. Knowledge of neuropathological distribution patterns of LBP and associated survival and genetic characteristics in both AD variants is incomplete.

Background: Patients with Primary Progressive Aphasias (PPAs) almost systematically inquire about the longitudinal evolution of their disease in clinics but very little research exists on the issue.
Method: We studied 82 PPA patients from the Research Chair on PPA - Fondation de la Famille Lemaire Cohort over a 10-year span (42 logopenic, 21 non-fluent/agrammatic and 19 semantic PPAs) and collected data from 5 domains (language, cognition, motor, psychiatric, functional) at 5 time points from onset to death. Logistical regression analyses and repeated measures ANOVAs were conducted to delineate the longitudinal profile of each variant PPA.

Genomic instability is a hallmark of cancer and is a major driving force of tumorigenesis. A key manifestation of genomic instability is the formation of extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) - acentric, circular DNA molecules ranging from 50 kb to 5 Mb in size, distinct from chromosomes. Ontological studies have revealed that ecDNA serves as a carrier of oncogenes, immunoregulatory genes, and enhancers, capable of driving elevated transcription of its cargo genes and cancer heterogeneity, leading to rapid tumor evolution and therapy resistance.

Domain-specific vocabulary, which is crucial in fields such as Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing, requires continuous updates to remain effective. Incremental Learning, unlike conventional methods, updates existing knowledge without retraining from scratch. This paper presents an incremental learning algorithm for updating domain-specific vocabularies.
