The pathogenesis of long COVID (LC) still presents many areas of uncertainty. This leads to difficulties in finding an effective specific therapy. We hypothesize that the key to LC pathogenesis lies in the presence of chronic functional damage to the main anti-inflammatory mechanisms of our body: the three reflexes mediated by the vagus nerve, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) hormonal axis, and the mitochondrial redox status.

Purpose: Rathke's cleft cysts (RCC) are present in up to 20% of autopsy studies but only a minority necessitate surgical treatment. Inflammation of RCC is thought to be significant in three processes: the development of classical symptoms, a predisposition to rupture or apoplexy, and increasing the rate of RCC recurrence. We aim to characterize clinical presentation, histological and radiological findings in patients with surgically managed RCC.

MP acts as an endocrine disrupting chemical (EDC) on the hypothalamic-pituitary-thyroid (HPT) axis. Accumulating studies have highlighted the links between stress-related networks and the HPA axis for emotion regulation and proved the mapping associations between altered structural and functional networks (called SC-FC coupling) in depression. However, the signatures of SC-FC coupling in subthreshold depression (StD) individuals and their relationships with HPA axis reactivity, as well as the predictive power of these combinations for discriminating StD, remain unclear. This cross-sectional study enrolled 160 adults, including 117 StD and 43 healthy controls (HC).
