Background: The quality of gynaecological surgical training has faced mounting criticism internationally with multiple countries publishing potential remedies for improvement. Simulation has the indisputable ability to mitigate against training deficiencies, however, access to and the quality of simulation varies across regions, never mind nations.
Objectives: To assess the effect on surgical skills by the introduction of a structured and integrated simulation programme with the unique aspect of being completely free of cost with the provision of a take-home laparoscopy box trainer (LBT).

These days, the use of natural materials is required for sustainable and consequently plus-, zero- and low-energy construction. One of the main objectives of this research was to demonstrate that pelite concrete block masonry can be a structural and thermal insulation material. In order to determine the actual thermal insulation parameters of the building partition, in situ experimental research was carried out in real conditions, taking into account the temperature distribution at different heights of the partition.

Aims: In intraoperative frozen tissue section laboratories (FS laboratories) conventional practice for mounting coverslips on tissue slides involves the use of xylene-based mounting agents, such as Pertex. However, toxic vapours pose a risk to biomedical laboratory scientists (BLS) and pathologists who handle the wet slides to provide fast and urgent diagnostic results to surgeons during operations. Our study aims to evaluate non-toxic mounting agents to substitute Pertex, preferably with a fast curing time suitable for the demands of the new digital era in pathology.

As the global population grows and is increasingly concentrated in urban environments, the quality of urban horticultural soils is of mounting importance. Until now, most urban horticultural soil assessments have been applied in nations and continents outside North America, and none have been conducted in Canada-an important agricultural region. Here, we present the first Canadian study to evaluate soil health in urban horticultural soil (gardens producing fruit and vegetables), benchmarked against conventional agricultural soil in surrounding rural areas (producing cereals, oilseeds, and legumes).

paper, , is frequently used as the first back lining paper of hanging scrolls in order to support the main paper with a painting or a work of calligraphy on it. To dye it an appropriate color, paper is often treated with an alkali mordant solution. However, current paper products have received such comments from conservators that wet tensile strength is weak and hard to handle.
