Introduction: Observational studies have revealed a close relationship between reduced bone mineral density (BMD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD) risk. The receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand (RANKL) and osteoprotegerin (OPG) system, pivotal in regulating bone metabolism, has been implicated in brain function, but the causal impact on AD risk remains unclear.
Methods: We employed bi-directional Mendelian randomization (MR) and multivariable MR (MVMR) approaches to elucidate the effect of blood soluble RANKL (sRANKL) and OPG levels on AD, assessing whether this influence was independent of BMD and inflammation.

Objective: This study aimed to determine whether a relationship exist between pre-therapy 25-hydroxyvitamin D levels and the remission/negative conversion rates of thyrotropin receptor antibody (TRAB) during treatment in patients with newly diagnosed Graves' disease (GD).
Methods: 171 patients were included from the Endocrinology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University in March 2013 to April 2016. Ninety-five patients of them were diagnosed at our hospital but transferred to local hospitals for treatment.

It is still challenging to perform a high-throughput digestion on limited amounts of sample prior to elemental analysis by atomic spectrometry. Herein, a photochemical reactor consisting of a quartz tube inserted into a low-pressure mercury lamp was used to fabricate a flow droplet photodigestion (FD-PD) device for the high-throughput digestion of small amounts of samples. A mixture containing 20 μL of blood sample, 20 μL of HO, and 10 μL of HNO was pumped and passed through the reactor before its online analysis by hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry (HG-AFS).

Introduction: Phosphate (P) binders are among the most common medications prescribed to control P levels in patients with chronic kidney disease on dialysis. There is still a paucity of data on adherence to P binders with no comparison between dialysis modalities.
Methods: We accessed factors associated with P binder adherence among patients on dialysis in an academic hospital.

Objectives: Osteoblast is known to regulate hematopoiesis according to preclinical studies but the causal relationship in human remains uncertain. We aimed to evaluate causal relationships of bone mineral density (BMD) with blood cell traits using genetic data.
Methods: Summary statistics from the largest available genome-wide association study were retrieved for total body BMD (TBBMD), lumbar spine BMD (LSBMD), femoral neck BMD (FNBMD) and 29 blood cell traits including red blood cell, white blood cell and platelet-related traits.
