We report four Chinese infants with a darker pigmented Mongolian spot superimposed on another Mongolian spot. The presence of a superimposed Mongolian spot has not been previously reported. Mongolian spots can look similar to a bruise and awareness of these lesions is important to avoid unjustified consideration of injury or child abuse.

Fires are natural phenomena that impact human behaviors, vegetation, and landscape functions. However, the long-term history of fire, especially in the permafrost marginal zone of Central Asia (Mongolia), is poorly understood. This paper presents the results of radiocarbon and short-lived radionuclides (Pb and Cs) dating, pollen, geochemical, charcoal, and statistical analyses (Kohonen's artificial neural network) of sediment core obtained from Northern Mongolia (the Khentii Mountains region).

Domestication begins with the selection of animals showing less fear of humans. In most domesticates, selection signals for tameness have been superimposed by intensive breeding for economical or other desirable traits. Old World camels, conversely, have maintained high genetic variation and lack secondary bottlenecks associated with breed development.
