Background: Microglial cells have emerged as key players in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). They act as a first line defense and fulfil a crucial role during brain development and circuit homeostasis. Microglia are involved in the removal of debris, control neural activity, regulate synaptic plasticity, and synapse pruning.

Background: Cord blood (CB) is widely used in treating haematologic disorders due to its broad availability, tolerance to significant histocompatibility antigen disparities, and low incidence of chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD). The cord blood transplantation (CBT) with anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG)-containing conditioning regimens shows promise in this regard.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of data from patients who underwent CBT at our centre from August 2003 to December 2022.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex autoimmune disease with a number of immunological aberrations in the mechanisms of innate and adaptive immune responses. Spontaneous and induced mouse models of the disease have contributed significantly to the advancement in lupus treatments. The involvement of humanized models, engrafted with lupus patients' immune cells, represented the possibility to study the development of SLE.

Overexpression of the myeloid Src-family kinases Fgr and Hck has been linked to the development of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Here we characterized the contribution of active forms of these kinases to AML cell cytokine dependence, inhibitor sensitivity, and AML cell engraftment in vivo. The human TF-1 erythroleukemia cell line was used as a model system as it does not express endogenous Hck or Fgr.

Objective: To investigate the safety, efficacy, and prognosis of high-dose melphalan in combination with autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (ASCT) for the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM).
Methods: The clinical data of 17 patients with newly diagnosed MM who underwent ASCT as first-line consolidation therapy at the Yijishan Hospital of Wannan Medical College from March 2020 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The safety, efficacy, and prognosis of this treatment approach were evaluated.
