The neurovascular costoclavicular compression syndrome is rare. Physicians generally have little experience with this syndrome. It is difficult to provide evidence based on sound clinical science that proves the existence of the syndrome in relation to diagnosis and treatment. Nevertheless there are reasons to assume that this syndrome exists on the basis of clinical experience, particularly that of vascular surgeons.
