Neurocritical care as a field aims to treat patients who are neurologically critically ill due to a variety of pathologies. As a recently developed subspecialty, the field faces challenges, several of which are outlined in this review. The authors discuss aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, status epilepticus, and traumatic brain injury as specific disease processes with opportunities for growth in diagnosis, management, and treatment, as well as disorders of consciousness that can arise as a result of many neurological injuries.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the group at highest risk for autoimmune inflammation through a comparative analysis among patients with chronic post-traumatic uveitis (CPTU).
Material And Methods: The clinical group included 50 patients (aged 18 to 87 years, mean age 41±2.6 years) with CPTU resulting from penetrating injury, contusion, or intraocular surgery.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate cracked teeth and vertical root fracture observable on micro-CT images of extracted roots of mandibular incisors, after fiber post removal.
Materials And Methods: Thirty mandibular incisors were selected with any degree of slight incisal wear inspected with the aid of a stereomicroscope under 12x magnification, in order to have a group of young adult specimens according to the criteria of Hugoson et al. A sample of twelve mandibular incisors were selected, aged between 20 and 30 years old, with similar dentine volume and thickness.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the utility of inflammation-based prognostic scores (IBPS) in predicting ORN among patients undergoing superselective intra-arterial chemoradiotherapy (SSIACRT). This retrospective cohort study examined the medical records of 54 patients with advanced oral cancer (stage 3 or 4) treated with SSIACRT. The predictor variable was IBPS.
