Effect of phenotropil in combination with anticonvulsant drugs on the course of different forms of epilepsy and EEG parameters has been studied. Patients of a main group (31 patients) received phenotropil, along with antiepileptic drugs (AEP), in dosage 100 mg daily during 2 months. Effect of the therapy was compared to the patients of comparison group (30 patients) treated with AEP only. In the main group, the significant decrease of seizures and positive changes on the EEG with the reduction of the index of epileptiform changes was observed.

Importance: Endocrine treatments, such as Tamoxifen (TAM) and/or Aromatase inhibitors (AI), are the adjuvant therapy of choice for hormone-receptor positive breast cancer. These agents are associated with menopausal symptoms, adversely affecting drug compliance. Topical estrogen (TE) has been proposed for symptom management, given its' local application and presumed reduced bioavailability, however its oncological safety remains uncertain.

State Key Laboratory of Environmental Aquatic Chemistry, Research Center for Eco- Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100085, China; University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100049, China. Electronic address:

The flow through the grit chamber is non-biochemically treated wastewater, which contains microorganisms mainly from the source of wastewater generation. There are limited reports on aerosol particles generated by grit chambers compared with those produced by biochemical treatment tanks. This study analyzed the fugitive characteristics of aerosol particles produced in grit chambers at nine wastewater treatment plants in three regions of China.

Ethiopia's agriculture is mostly dependent on rain, though the rainfall distribution and amount are varied in spatiotemporal context. The study was conducted to analyze the distribution, trends, and variability of monthly, seasonal, and annual rainfall data over the Wollo area from 1981 to 2022. To accomplish this, the study utilized the Climate Hazards Group Infrared Precipitation with Stations version two (CHIRPS-v2) data.

Understanding how land use affects temporal stability is crucial to preserve biodiversity and ecosystem functions. Yet, the mechanistic links between land-use intensity and stability-driving mechanisms remain unclear, with functional traits likely playing a key role. Using 13 years of data from 300 sites in Germany, we tested whether and how trait-based community features mediate the effect of land-use intensity on acknowledged stability drivers (compensatory dynamics, portfolio effect, and dominant species variability), within and across plant and arthropod communities.
