Introduction: Endocrine paraneoplastic syndromes (ePNS) are caused by malignant cells that induce hormonal alterations unrelated to the tissue of origin of the neoplasm. The aim of this manuscript is to review the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of endocrine paraneoplastic syndromes (ePNS).
Areas Covered: We searched the PubMed/Medline, Embase, and Scielo databases, including 96 articles.
Rationale: Paraneoplastic Cushing syndrome (PCS) is an adverse prognostic factor for small cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. Retrospective studies have shown that the median survival of SCLC complicated with PCS was <7 months. No immunochemotherapy has been recorded in the treatment of SCLC with PCS.

Background: Paraneoplastic Neurological Syndromes (PNS) constitute a heterogeneous cluster of disease manifestations related to various cancers. Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) is strongly related to PNS. This narrative review conducted a survey in the available PubMed literature to highlight the appearance of PNSs in SCLC cases and discuss published research highlights on the subject so that general practitioners can be acquainted with the medical phenomenon present in SCLC patients.

Introduction: Neuroendocrine neoplasms encompass well-differentiated tumors (NETs) and poorly differentiated carcinomas (neuroendocrine carcinomas [NECs]), which are distinguished by their clinical behavior and molecular characteristics. They can cause paraneoplastic syndromes, such as ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH)-dependent Cushing's syndrome (CS), necessitating prompt recognition and management due to severe hypercortisolism.
Case Presentation: A 66-year-old patient with a 3-year history of metastatic mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm with a NEC and adenocarcinoma component originating from the vulva presented to the emergency department with dyspnea and fatigue.
